“Secure profile required”
What the server is requiring: that your account carry a player-profile with signing keys — the machinery behind signed chat introduced in the 1.19 era. Servers can insist on it (enforce-secure-profile); when they do, a client without a valid signed profile is turned away at the gate with this message.
Satisfying it
- Sign into the official launcher with the Microsoft account that owns the game — profile keys ride on real accounts; local/offline profiles cannot have them.
- Restart launcher and game once so a fresh profile with current keys is fetched.
- Check your multiplayer eligibility: family-safety or account settings that block multiplayer also block profile features. That is adjusted in the Microsoft/Xbox account settings, not in the game.
Why operators turn it on
Signed profiles make chat attributable, which some communities want for moderation and some players dislike for privacy — both positions are coherent, and this desk takes neither side. The requirement is the operator’s call; whether to play there is yours. If your setup is a local profile by choice, theaccount-modes page shows which gates that choice closes.
